Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to put in a credit card?

Yes, our system requires it and all payments will be taken from your card on the first of each month.

Do I need to have my account automatically paid?

All accounts must be enrolled in autopay.

How does billing work?

Our billing is based on an 11 week session paid in three monthly installments.  All monthy payments are the same regardless of how many classes there are each month because by the end it work out to being the total session price for the 11 weeks of classes.

Are parents allowed to watch practice?

They are, we just ask that you remain in the waiting area unles the coach has asked you to join them in the gym area.

If we are thinking of joining, can we come in to check it out?

Yes!  We would love to have you stop in anytime we are open or you can email or text to set up a more scheduled visit using our contact information provided on the site.  You can also contact us through our Facebook page.

When can we start?

While we do run three sessions per year (Fall, Winter and Spring) and a shorter summer session, you can choose to sign-up at anytime.  Joining after a session starts might mean that your child will have to catch up with some language the rest of the class is already familiar with but we will help them do that as easily as we can.  If you sign up in the middle of a month, the price will be pro-rated for the time remaining in the month.

So why have sessions?

The ends of sessions is when we test all athletes to see if they are ready to move up.  With that said, if your child is clerly ready to move up mid-session, we will talk with you and see if we can make that change sooner.

What should my child wear to practice?

Female gymnasts should wear a leotard with or wothout shorts whenever possible.  Male gymnasts can wear a t-shirt and shorts.  Ninjas and Superheroes are fine in a shirt and shorts or athletic pants.  Socks are not recommended in the gym as they make it easy to slip on our equipment.

What else does my child need for practice?

Long hair should be pulled back and all athetes should bring a filled water bottle to the gym.  That's it.

Can my child be tested before signing up for classes?

Definitely.  If you are new to the gym and you do not think your child is a beginner, please comtact us to set up a time to test.  It only takes  acouple minutes, but we'd rather get it right the first time.

If my child does gymnastics, does that mean they cannot do other sports?

No - at Phoenix Gymnastics, we want all athletes to do what is best for them.  If your child is ineterested in other sports, we encourage you to try them and we will do our best to work with you to make sure your child is able to do both for as long as they want to.  With that, gymnastics is definitely a year round sport and it is important for your safety and your progress that you prctice as consistently as you can BUT we also want you to have a life and we never want this sport to keep you from that.  We never punich athletes for missing practices, taking breaks or doing whatever they need to do to stay at the top of their game both physically and mentally.

Does my child have to do every meet?

No - each family decides how much they wantto compete.  However, you are resposible for signing up for the meets you want to do through the gym and money usually is not refunded if you decide not to compete for any reason other than an injury; even that refund is not guaranteed and is up to the host club to decide.

What do I do if I have a concern?

Whenever possible, we wpould like you to talk to your child's coach about any questions or concerns you might have.  If you still feel like your concern has not been addressed or you are not comfortable talking to the coach, please reach out using our contact info.  We strive to fix any issues and address all concerns as quickly as possible, but we cannot do that if we don't know what they are so always feel free to reach out so we can make your tine with us the best experince it can be!
